When we first developed the sonic universe of the Wisp World experience on Apple Vision Pro, we created a whimsical, nonsensical, extraterrestrial language to give our solitary Wisp a speaking voice. In this new, expanded experience for Spectacles from Snap Inc (the Snapchat Folks), the little charmer sings. Plus they’re joined by a couple of cute mates for a communal sing-along.

The AR experience culminates when you help to reunite the three lost Wisps. They celebrate by coming together to sing—and squelchily beatbox—a song about the adventures you’ve all been through together. The song features generative, story-led lyrics that recount your adventure, turning the objects and locations found in the real world into unique, ever-changing verses.

The Gang Talks

Since the Wisps are powered by a custom Large Language Model for open-ended, generative conversations, Wisplish is procedurally generated from a library of phonemes we designed to flow together smoothly, no matter the order they’re in.

We recorded our own voices and held sessions with actual professional vocalists to produce  modular voice sounds banks and, of course, the lovely singing.

By giving the Wisps a unique voice and their own song, we helped Liquid City make this ethereal AR world feel personal, emotive, and cute as all heck.
